Chapman University's 2013 Fall Dance Concert
Chapman University stages pieces choreographed by its Department of Dance faculty and performed by students for its annual Fall Dance Concert. The show's directed by associate professor Liz Maxwell, who teaches modern dance technique, dance history, choreography and Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis at the college. She also created a new work for this event, in which the dancers move in and around a large cube. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and starring an ensemble of eight, the first section of the piece is more abstract in tone, while the second is more dramatic and narrative.
