Summertime by Charles Mee Explores Finding Love in a Crazy World
Chapman University presents Charles L. Mee's Summertime, a passionate, comedic and idiosyncratic investigation into the nature of romantic love that attempts to make sense of the often senseless but lasting relationships that exist between men and women. The twists of being alive and living are played out in this romantic comedy that is not neat nor finished. Mee, known for his collage-like, loose style of playwriting, also wrote a companion piece to Summertime, called Wintertime, which features the same characters and setting, set in another season. Tamiko Washington directs.
