A Thurber Carnival: Sketches From James Thurber's Best Work
James Thurber was one of the most popular humorists of the 1940s and '50s, contributing some of America's most famous comic short stories, including "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," "The Night the Bed Fell" and more. Orinda Starlight Village Players presents a series of sketches based on those stories as well as "Gentlemen Shoppers" and the unforgettable "File and Forget" in which Thurber recounts his famous correspondence with various publishers who ship him books which he doesn't want and never ordered. It's the perfect summer evening of comic theater in the gorgeous outdoor setting of Orinda Community Center Park's Amphitheater.

We were pleasantly surprised at this charming outdoor venue - very beautiful and peaceful. The actors did a wonderful job. They served snacks & hot chocolate during intermission. Tip: Bring a little stadium chair to put on top of the bench for back support and a blanket. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended!
