Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon is the world's longest-running musical revue. Since 1974, this San Francisco institution has followed Snow White on a musical comedy quest around the world, where she runs into satirically portrayed pop culture and political celebrities, an impressive array of gigantic hats and one show-stopping musical number after another. Because the show is constantly updated with new costumes, hats and characters, it rewards repeat visits. Among the familiar faces you might see spoofed in Beach Blanket's latest incarnation: Lady Gaga, Barack and Michelle Obama, the cast of Glee, Kate Middleton and Adele. Even after nearly 40 years, Beach Blanket Babylon remains one of San Francisco's wildest evenings of live entertainment. Learn More

This is a 90-minute show with one intermission. Marcia Mason pulled out, but the replacement does a fabulous job. It is almost a one-woman show. Arrive in time to read the program and I think you will get more out of the play. There is also a talk before the play. This is one where the more information you have before you see it, the better.
BART works beautifully for getting there.
We are all alone in the face of death, and all alone in the face of life—how can this stark truth be funny? But in Samuel Beckett’s brilliant hands it is, as you’ll find out when you see Cal Shakes’ production of Happy Days. Artistic Director Jonathan Moscone brings the work of the Nobel Prize-winning Beckett to the Bruns stage for the very first time with this astounding portrait of a woman buried up to her waist in sand, and in the comically painful toil of her life.
