Real-life private eye and writer Tom Eubanks brings to the stage The Art of Something, the story of Arthur Jones, an L.A. investigator suffering from a midlife crisis, a failing 29-year marriage and agoraphobia. Arthur has gotten sucked into the weird world of his job, where abnormal is normal. Now, distanced from his wife and daughter and with his artistic dreams crushed, Arthur finds that he can't leave his office. But he still has to deal with armed philanderers, threats and a stalker -- all while trying to trick a schizophrenic client's daughter into passing along his screenplay to her Hollywood producer boss. Artistic director of the Elite Theatre Company, Eubanks' previous plays are American Right and Perfect Quiet Place. Learn More

Wow! What a unique show! My friends and I were not really sure what to expect from this show that "combines theatre with magic." Micah Cover told a story about a couple from 1945 that fall in loved and then vanish mysteriously on their wedding night. The story is told though storytelling and magic. The magic tricks were amazing! At times, though, I wanted to know more about the story of the two lovers. It seems like the performance didn't always live up to what the description of the story could have been. That being said, it was still an immensely entertaining show. The description made it seem like it would be creepier than it was, but it turned out there was a lot of humor in it and the couple of younger kids in the audience looked like they were having a lot of fun. The show only runs about an hour and was a very fun way to spend an evening!
