view more less of this reviewWe were amazed and entertained by the feats and artistry of the performers. This is the 1st Cirque du Soleil show we have attended and we will go to another in the future.
star this review starred report as inappropriateI've been to several Cique shows, this is not my favorite. It seems the seats were smaller than I remember. The guy to my left thought he could encroach on my space and my friend kept inching towards me because the guy next to him kept taking up space. It was very small.
Our seats were quite far back. We were third row from the back, which surprised me since I'm a Red Velvet member and I paid for Level 2 but I guess I wasn't sure what I was getting. Maybe I'll check with Ticketmaster first next time.
The performances were good.
star this review starred report as inappropriateWhile the individual acts and the presentation is spectacular, the show does not really deliver a story of "A fascinating journey into the evolution of mankind".
star this review starred report as inappropriateThere were some amazing acts, costumes, and stage design, however the theme of "Evolution" was bizarrely executed. A man dressed as Darwin would appear occasionally throughout the evening accompanied by monkeys, people in Native American styled costumes, and Italian clowns riding a jet ski. I've been to several Cirque shows and while they are all surreal and at times downright weird, Totem just seemed like it missed the mark.

Description
TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly.
The characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations. Inspired by many founding myths, TOTEM illustrates, through a visual and acrobatic language, the evolutionary progress of species.
Somewhere between science and legend TOTEM explores the ties that bind Man to other species, his dreams and his infinite potential.
