Illusions Nightclub (Palo Alto, CA)
Kaweh performs a concert tour of his upcoming live CD/DVD, in which he sings in Spanish and Italian while captivating the audience with his fast rasgueado (guitar finger strumming). His combination of picado, western picking and sweet melodies leave people humming after the concert. The evening features Kaweh's all-star lineup of musicians and an internationally acclaimed belly dancer.

I knew this was going to be a good concert, however, they surpassed my expectations! They are a tight fun loving group that I want to see again and again and again! Kinea Rodriguez, who plays the guitar and sings was an unexpected surprise. She was very sweet and is very talented. I really enjoyed meeting her after the concert! It's great to see a female getting to have just as much presence as her male counterparts in what usually is a male dominated arena. It just shows you how she can hold her own! I was totally impressed!
Great concert, really enjoyed the variety of music played, very high energy group, great entertainment with the Flamenco and Belly dancing, veryspecial touch with the cuban songs by Kenya Rodriguez! This was the best entertainment investment in years!
The escort and seating arrangements were confusing and disappointing. The concert itself was enjoyable.
Kaweth - a complete chaos! A disorganized mess where the $60.00 tickets and the discount tickets had no real value since "Illusions" left
everyone get into the place - overselling - placing the late comers
in the middle of the floor, blocking the view and space for US reserved
tickets holders.
In addition, the first part of the program was "just the beat" with interminable contorsions of the dancer (who was probably the only one having fun!) and a lot of guitarr and noise instead of melodies and songs as the Gipsy Kings had. Poor performance most definitely.
Fans from all walks of life at every show ask, “What album is that song on?” “When will it be released?” Songs like “Marina” by Rocco Granata, “Parla Piu Piano” (from the movie “Godfather” by Nino Rotta), Cumbanchero (Rafael Hernandez) and Cancion del Mariachi (from the movie “Desperado” by Cesar Rosas) have long been anticipated. The live album has now come to fruition with an added live multi-camera DVD.
Internationally acclaimed belly dancer “Sandra” and Israeli educator and percussionist Dror Sinai mesmerize the audience with a one-of-a-kind performance as Kaweh opens the concert with “Persia” from the Play Spanish album. Sandra and Dror return mid-set to give yet another mystifying performance of the songs “Sahhra” and “Play Spanish,” which moves the audience to chant.
The international all-star lineup of musicians include MACSA Latino Hall of Fame nominee Edgardo Cambon, a congero from Uruguay who gives a fiery performance on “Cumbanchero,” and vocalist/guitarist Kenia Rodriguez from Havana, Cuba, who sings the group’s new vocal track “Guajira.”
Latin drummer/percussionist Louie Flores Jr. and bassist Mark Kraft from Morgan Hill, California, celebrate their fifth year performing with Kaweh. Their diverse rhythms can best be described as rumba flamenca, Mediterranean and Latin. Acclaimed flamenco dancers Kerensa Demars, Fanny Ara, Stephanie Narvaez and Melissa Cruz join the group on their 2008 tour.
