This world premiere production of Everything You Touch brings to the stage a ferociously funny look at the world of fashion. Circa the '70s, we meet Victor -- a fierce and famous fashion designer who's just become inspired by an ordinary Midwestern woman to cast aside his glamorous muse Esme in order to design clothes for the more commonly shaped masses. A generation later, amidst a battle with self-loathing and inner-demons, a woman tries to find her way through a world of fashion that bears little concern for a person of her size. As Everything You Touch bounces back and forth between these two stories, it delivers viciously comedic commentary on the struggle to discover personal identities that run more than just skin deep. We really enjoyed this play, especially when the actors stepped out of character to explain to us some of the greek mythology we might not have otherwise remembered from high school! There were a few moments when the play dragged, but overall it was a very enjoyable evening.
