Food was horrible. The wine was cheap. The music was hokey. Can't believe tickets were so overpriced.

we had our own fun... but according to the description the fact that there was going to be food, and wine.. there was MINIMAL FOOD.. bites to sample rather than meal portions.. I didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I had plenty of wine to sample.. but not enough food to balance it out.

The event was really wonderful. How often does one get to be on the field at the Rose Bowl. The venue was just spectacular. The band was very good and the various items in the silent auction were fun to view and we even won a couple of our bids. We hope to attend again next year.

More Details About This Event:

Fine wine. Live music. Silent and live auctions. Tempting food from the area’s top chefs. A gorgeous late spring evening in Southern California. These are a few of the California Philharmonic’s favorite things. Actually, they combine to make one of the California Philharmonic’s favorite things: Wine and Strings, the orchestra’s annual fundraising event.

The 2007 Wine and Strings was held on Saturday, June 9th. At the historic Shakespeare Club House in Pasadena, guests enjoyed a Shakespearian evening sure to be memorable for its wonderful music, fun and food.

This year, attendees will enjoy live music, dancing, fun, food and auctions on the fifty-yard line of “America’s Stadium”—Pasadena’s historic Rose Bowl.  Come join us for a once in a lifetime experience at one of Southern California’s most beloved destinations.  Most people never get the chance to enjoy the perfectly manicured lawn of the Rose Bowl, but Wine and Strings is your chance.

Each year, the event has its own personality; from differing locations (the list of historic venues Wine and Strings has been held at is very impressive) to emphasis on differing types of featured wine, to the unique auction items that are donated for the auctions. This is truly a unique fundraising event—one with the emphasis wholeheartedly upon the fun, but with it’s heart firmly focused on the goal of raising money for the California Philharmonic.

Don’t miss this incredible event!
