The Pasadena Playhouse presents the world premiere of Dangerous Beauty, a musical based on the film of the same name, which was itself based on the novel The Honest Courtesan. Broadway vet Jenny Powers plays Veronica, an adventurous young Venetian woman whose family is too poor for her to marry her love, Marco, an upwardly mobile politician. Instead she becomes one of the city's top courtesans and her future and Marco's intertwine with the destiny of Venice itself.

My daughters and I attended the Saturday matinee show. We all had an enjoyable time. Seats were great. Performances were very good. Costumes were great. Be sure to check-out boutique, very interested prto-type costumes set-up with mock-up board.

Attended the late night showing with my mother. We both thought it was great. The costumes were gorgeous. the singing was wonderful. The story line was mesmerizing. Loved watching a story who's message was that a womens best asset is an education. Great message to recieve in a world compelled with vanity.

I enjoyed the show a lot. I thought that the sets were very nice, and the work with the lighting was great. The costumes were so-so. Some were absolutely amazing, others were way to modern. The dancing was a little off, and very staccato, for me, it was slightly distracting at times. The music flowed with the show, but it did make the beginning hard to follow if you didn't already know the story. The cast was very talented, the acting was good. The show needs work, but overall I really enjoyed it.
