One Night With Janis Joplin adds some actual Fourth of July fireworks to the musical ones produced on stage, with a post-show barbeque buffet on the Arena Stage terrace -- a prime viewing spot for the famed pyrotechnics launched on the National Mall. First up is the show, a part-concert, part-theatrical event that captures Janis Joplin's life and legacy in all its live intensity. Mary Bridget Davies stars as the rock legend in a performance that has audiences dancing in the aisles and critics raving. Featuring powerful musical numbers including "Piece of My Heart, "Summertime" and "Mercedes Benz," as well as one song Joplin never formally recorded, One Night boasts a full band and a cast including Sabrina Elayne Carten, who plays Bessie Smith, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. Written on Oct 02 2012This is a good way of sampling food from other countries or restaurants that you may not have known about. There is not as much food as the Culver City food tour - but enough to feel satisfied. I enjoyed it!

Foody Field Trips is a culinary walking food tour geared toward anyone who loves food, people, travel, adventure and having fun. The tour focuses on creating a social, cultural, historical and educational, hands-on culinary adventure rather than just a general dining experience. Guests are offered a number of dishes from various favorite local eateries that serve cuisines from all around the world. They are also able to meet and greet with the owners and chefs and get a behind the scenes look at these neighborhood establishments.
On the Old Pasadena Foody Field Trip, guests explore one of Southern California’s most popular tourist attractions while sampling a wide range of delectable eats at some of the most diverse restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, ranging from Peruvian to Korean, Vietnamese to Argentinean. Guests will learn the rich history that makes Old Pasadena a National Register Historic District and one of L.A.’s premier shopping and entertainment destinations for locals and out-of-towners alike. The three-hour guided tour will take guests to six tasting locations, introducing their palette to international flavors from around the world while they are given a behind the scenes look at the various hidden independent local establishments that make this neighborhood unique.
