Ring in the New Year with the silk-and-diamond decadence of The Great Gatsby as Baz Lurhmann's best films spring to life during this spectacular New Year's Eve party. Begin your stylish evening with a three-course dinner, followed by a performance of the popular show For the Record: Baz Luhrmann, featuring powerhouse performers from music, stage and screen reenacting iconic scenes and songs from Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom and The Great Gatsby. After the show, Rockwell will be transformed into a Gatsby-style 1920s' retreat. Listen to live music while enjoying the delicious buffet and glass of champagne included in the ticket price. If you'd prefer to skip the seated dinner and show and commence straight to partying the night away, the VIP Party Only option takes place in Rockwell's dazzling second-floor VIP salon decorated Gatsby style, where you can enjoy the buffet, a champagne toast, a balloon drop and live music. Formed by Eric Davidson (banjo), Caleb Finch (fiddle) and others in New York during the early 1960's, Iron Mountain String Band recreates the sound of old time Appalachian mountain music. During the late 60's, Peggy Haine was its guitar player and the ballad singer for the band, and now Brooke Moyer is the third member of the band.
As was typical of string bands before the 1930's, the Iron Mountain String Band's lineup includes only banjo, fiddle and guitar. Instruments such as mandolin and dobro were introduced later to string band music, with the development of bluegrass style music. Today the band is based in Southern California, where they regularly perform live and on the air."
