Members Who Went Said:Fun show overall. Good songs, performers had very good voices and the harmonies were enjoyable. All in all, a nice evening.
mark k. The music and songs are some of the best I have heard in a show in years and bound to become classic show tunes! These 3 women all bring something unique and wonderful to the show.
Robyn Roth Theatre Junky Great update of the show...a little dated, kind of in the way A Chorus Line was, but really fine cast, songs that captured the mood. I liked the updating at the end — gave the show depth. I saw it with an old high school friend. |

More Details About This Event: Vanities
By Jack Heifner Music and Lyrics by David Kirshenbaum Musical staging by Dan Knechtges Directed by Judith Ivey Based on the Original Play Vanities by Jack Heifner "Hey there, Beautiful, we're here!" Chronicling the comic journey of three vivacious Texas teens from cheerleaders to sorority sisters to housewives, liberated women and beyond, this tangy tale of coming-of-age in the '60s and '70s is a musical scrapbook of an era that had to be lived to be believed. With a tunefully evocative score by David Kirshenbaum and Jack Heifner's hilarious adaptation of his long-running off-Broadway smash, Vanities offers a snapshot-sharp portrait of the lives, loves, disappointments, and dreams of best friends caught up in times that are a-changin'. Starring Lauren Kennedy as Mary, Sarah Stiles as Joanne, and Anneliese van der Pol as Kathy.
