Society Hill Playhouse celebrates Black History Month with the world premiere of Branch: A Baseball Legend. Written by Walt Vail, the play centers on a pivotal moment in sports history: when the "color barrier" was finally broken in major league baseball. Branch takes you inside the conference room at Ebbets Field as Branch Rickey, general manager and part-owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers, relates the story of the 1947 hiring of legendary slugger Jackie Robinson. It's a poignant piece about racism in American culture, and a man who did something to help change it.

One-man show for 80 minutes that covered lots of ground and ran the gamut of emotions and events. A significant figure in American, not just baseball, history given his due. Kudos!
