With more than 3,500 murals, Philadelphia has been called the Mural Capital of the World. On this two-hour tour of Center City's "Mural Mile," you'll see 17 iconic murals in both commercial districts and residential neighborhoods, learning about the city's Mural Arts Program along the way. The tour guide will discuss the program's early history as an anti-graffiti network, art education and community engagement, mural-making techniques, interpretation of the mural images and the history of the neighborhoods and people who live there.

The Mural Arts tours have been on my personal "best of Philly" for years, and this walking tour was no exception. The guide was very knowledgeable and thoughtful.
