Comedian JB Smoove, best known for playing Leon on TV's Curb Your Enthusiasm, headlines Stand Up Live. Cobb's other TV roles include scene-stealing performances on Fox's 'Til Death and Everybody Hates Chris, as well as NBC's Bent. A former Saturday Night Live writer, he's also been seen in the movies Pootie Tang with Chris Rock, and Mr. Deeds with Adam Sandler. Smoove has been featured on Comedy Central's Tough Crowd and Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza, and was a regular guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He was the host of Comedy Central's Russell Simmons Presents, and in 2012, his first stand-up special JB Smoove: That's How I Dooz It premiered on Comedy Central.

More Information About Comedian/Actor JB Smoove

Description

JB Smoove is best known for his breakout role as Leon on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” which has firmly planted him as one of the best comedic actors today.  

After spending several year as a stand up comedian in New York City Smoove moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge Show,” as well as featured guest spots on “The Chris Rock Show” and “Premium Blend.”   This led to his first big feature film, where he narrated and starred in the cult classic “Pootie Tang,” reuniting with Rock.  Smoove subsequently following this up with a co-starring role opposite Adam Sandler in “Mr. Deeds.” 

After a season as a cast member on the sketch comedy program “Cedric the Entertainer Presents,” Smoove moved back to New York City where he landed a writing position on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”  He later was a recipient of the 2007 Writers Guild award for “Best Comedy/Variety Series” for his work on the show.

In the standup and acting worlds, Smoove has been featured on “Tough Crowd,” “Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza,” and several “Saturday Night Live” and  “Late Night with Conan O’ Brien,” sketches. He was a recurring character on “Everybody Hates Chris” and later became a cast member on the Brad Garrett  sitcom “’Til Death.”  He will next be seen as host of the new Comedy Central standup series, “Russell Simmons Presents: The Ruckus,”. Smoove recently shot his own one-hour stand-up special “That’s How I Dooz It” for the cable channel and will be co-starring in the NBC series “Bent”.  Smoove also serves as host of this year’s CLIO Awards special, celebrating the world’s best commercials.

On the big screen, he appeared in “Date Night” with Steve Carell and Tina Fey and the Farrelly Brothers directed comedy, “Hall Pass.” His most recent film projects are “The Sitter” with Jonah Hill, “We Bought a Zoo” featuring Matt Damon and “The Dictator” opposite Sacha Baron Cohen.
