Journey back to 1980 -- the era of disco balls, feathered hair and roller rink romances -- when Xanadu, the Tony-nominated "musical-on-wheels" skates onto the Center Stage of the Herberger Theater Center. The movie Xanadu, starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, won legions of die-hard fans for its '80s-tastic fashions, catchy songs and its celebration of roller-skating. The musical Xanadu transforms these same elements into a singing-and-skating spectacle that has wowed critics and audiences. It's 1980 and Kira, one of the nine muses, comes to Earth charged with a task of grave importance: She must help a struggling artist, Sonny, open a roller disco. Much magic (and a little mayhem) results in this family-friendly show that includes such classic songs as "Magic," "All Over The World," "Suddenly," "I'm Alive," "Evil Woman" and "Xanadu." Learn More

The ensemble, for the most part, was fantastic and played off each other well. It was a very fun experience that left you feeling like a voyeur peering in on the craziness of these characters. Sadly, the actress playing Lady Bracknell ruined the timing and camaraderie when she was present on stage. She fumbled her lines, EXPECTED laughs after delivering lines instead of relying upon natural timing and didn't have any sort of chemistry with her peers. It was a shame as when she came on stage it caused the fun to stop and one just prayed she'd be done soon so that you could escape back into the hijinks of Algy, John, Cecily and Gwendolyn.
