The praise for Sir Tom Stoppard's masterpiece Arcadia could not be more effusive. A reviewer from The Daily Telegraph gushed, "I have never left a play more convinced that I had just witnessed a masterpiece." Whereas The Independent wondered if it might be "the greatest play of its time." The reason for such enthusiasm might be found in Stoppard's uncanny blend of brainy discussion and down-to-earth emotion. In this play alive with ideas -- about Byron, entropy, history and heat -- the human characters are never lost or diminished, but somehow made more real by their participation in a conversation that seems to span centuries. Set in a sprawling English country house, Arcadia moves between the 19th century and the present through a series of love stories, while characters from both eras discover connections, unearth mysteries and unravel hidden truths. Artistic Director Carey Perloff helms the American Conservatory Theater's dazzling new production of this modern-day masterwork. Learn More

Written on Jun 20 2011We absolutely loved it! The play was fun, funny, entertaining, shocking, and suspensful. We were still smiling when we left. There was not a bad seat in the theatre. And, the volunteers were very nice and pleasant. I would definately attend an event again.

Written on Jun 12 2011Rover Dramawerks Murder at Orient Burlesque is pure camp n fluff. Tasty fluff. Strictly G, unless your kids are old enough to catch the gags. When kids are that mature, they laugh at the right spots for Shakespeare.
Written on Jun 03 2011This play was good fun - a bit of old time Vaudeville. Good performance from the cast members!

Description
Murder at the Orient Burlesque
by Carol M. Rice, directed by Mikey Abrams
When Russian princess Katherina Anastasia Faberge Antoinette joins the cast of the burlesque at Christie's Orient Palace, the trouble begins, so it's not a surprise when she turns up dead after only one performance.
As Detective Red Flannegan quickly discovers, everyone has a motive, and the Czarina was not only shot, but poisoned, stabbed, electrocuted and strangled. The question then becomes not who did it, but who did what, and is there anyone who didn't?
A riotous comedy by Rover's Artistic Director and the author of our Around the World in 80 Days.
