The food display was gorgeous and delicious - very well done with a tremendous variety.
The wines were varied and well presented.
There was a tea booth, NAJA, that sampled fantastic drinks.

the event was good, but a described a little different than it really was. the title and description almost implies a wine event where the wines were organized into sections by country... so maybe one could take a merlot adventure around the world and get a chance to experience how it changes from spain to california to argentina to australia.. but it was really just a collection of wine makers and distributors giving out samples..
on a good note though, the fruit and cheese table was very well organized. wish it had some proscuitto and meats to complement it all..

The event featured variety of wine from around the world and a great selection of cheeses, bread, crackers and fruit.

It was a good selection of wines from around the world. I would have liked a little more pairing of the cheeses and fruits with the different wines. This is a good place to meet and mingle with singles.

The event was fine. However, it wasn't worth $40; which was the discounted price from $60 (i.e. 8 tables of wine in the room). Actually, if it wasn't for the cheese tables, I would have rated the event a single star.

Around the world in 80 sips was just an "Okay" event. Thank goodness for the Goldstar price, because had we attended this event and paid full price we would have been extremely disappointed.
Basically when we arrived at the venue we thought it was a really nice place to have an event. But upon entering the site we were given dirty glasses which we had to exchange several times because of the lipstick stains on them, and then we were directed to a small room with 5-8 tables pouring mediocre wines. The only good part of the event was definitely the K & L wines. There was also a pretty good cheese and fruit table.
This was our first Drink Eat Play event, and it left much to be desired. Maybe we'll give this company another try one day, but only if we find discount tickets here on Goldstar.

It was a fun event, but none of the wines really blew me away. There were a couple of really nice ones (that pomegranate wine from the Israeli winery was surpringly yummy, as was the Frosch sparkling, dry Reisling). The crowd was really fun, though, and we met some really cool people. It was definitely a fun night. I'll look forward to the next!

The venue was good, the cheese and parking were excellent. Some of the wine makers/companies/representatives should have had additional staff to assit with pours, provide information and sales.

Lovely venue, good crowd, great wines, delicious food!

This was SUPER fun! Great wines and delicious cheeses! I highly recommend this event and can't wait until the next one!

The people were very nice, but I was disappointed in the wine. I was expecting wines that were more "high end". There was plenty of cheese and fruit, etc, and the cheeses were nice, but nothing new and unusual. The environment was weird, the building was an 80's throwback. There are so many beautiful places to hold wine tastings, I'm not sure why they held it in this weird uncomfortable building. There was a nice patio outside, but they didn't utilize that, either. I don't think it was worth the price of the ticket (even at the goldstar discount price).

Good wine selection great cheese and fruit platters. If you don't know much about wine this is NOT the event for you. But if you are a wine conessiour then it's an awesome event.

thought 80 sips meant 80 wines. Nope, they had maybe 30-40 wines, and most were under $20 retail. It was mostly small boutique stuff, obscure varietals, etc. Thankfully, b/c of Goldstar I paid $40 and not $60 pp, but it was not worth $40. That said, it was interesting and I did have a nice time. Cheese was pretty good.

Pretty good event, not what I was expecting for the venue, excellent cheese and fruits. I had hoped there would be a little more organization around the wines and where they were from, but overall a good event.
