Fun show in an intimate cabaret setting...an old 1911 Community Hall in Pt Loma. Jacques Brel right here in town. Interesting show. Highlights were the two male performers, George Lofland and Greg Henninger. Don't expect a Broadway production; think more along the lines of neighbors getting together to enjoy the process of putting on a show...with no budget but a lot of heart and enthusiasm. I'm looking forward to attending more performances from this group.

Description

The musical is staged in an innovative manner with four women, three men, and one pianist. Saturated with European sophistication, each ballad commemorates the pioneer works of Berthold Brecht and Kurt Weill, revealing didactic works for performance outside the conventional theatre.

Featured cast members include Lisa Brindley, Aaron Hatch, Greg Henninger, George Lofland, Eva Risman, Jennifer Struck, Mary Talbot-Fee, and musical pianist Alan Zundelevich.

Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris was originally produced at the Village Gate Theatre in Greenwich Village New York, and ran for over four years. It was later produced at several other New York theatres including Carnegie Hall.
