An absurdist tragicomedy originally published in 1960, The Caretaker was Nobel Prize-winning writer Harold Pinter's first major success. Frequently likened to Samuel Beckett's classic Waiting for Godot, The Caretaker revolves around the mentally challenged Aston, the fast-talking tramp he invites to stay with him, and Mick (Aston's younger brother, housemate and caretaker). The Caretaker stands as a prime example of Pinter's masterful ability to mix darkness, humor and humanity. For this Imago Theatre production, Jerry Mouawad directs Allen Nause in the lead role. A unique yet insightful and heart touching vignette of love and life. The The actors draw you into their characters amidst the simple setting, drawing your focus to the interplay between the characters. Tim True is wonderful as the narrator, and Alex Hurt steals the show as Harry. Go see "As it Goes", you won't be disappointed.
