Even Shakespeare could not top The Tempest, a magical story about the transforming power of forgiveness and the bond between parent and child. It follows the adventures of Prospero, an exiled duke who lives as the master of an enchanted isle abounding with fantastical creatures, mystery, music and romance. When a shipwreck delivers Prospero's enemies to the island, the plot thickens as his beloved daughter falls for the enemy's son. The Tempest, believed to be the last play Shakespeare wrote alone, is performed by Portland Shakespeare Project. This unforgettable story has inspired all kinds of adaptations, from poetry and paintings, to operas and films like Forbidden Planet. Learn More

This was my second play at Milagro Theater and they do an outstanding job. I brought 3 people with me and all of us enjoyed this play tremendously. It was lighthearted but profound and touched on the turbulent times in Chile during Pablo Neruda's era. Thank you Milagro Theater for putting on another memorable production.
This show is recommended for those ages 12 and older and is performed in Spanish with English supertitles.
About the Ticket Supplier: Miracle Theatre Group
The Miracle Theatre Group offers you an experience unlike anything else around. See one show, and you’ll have crossed the border to another culture; see a whole season, and you’ll have traveled the globe. Where else can you see live performances of a play by Federico García Lorca in Spanish with English supertitles? Or observe Portland’s longest-running (and bilingual) Day of the Dead celebration? From Afro-Cuban dance theatre to Argentine novelas, from Golden Age classics to world premieres of new work, you’ll find that performances at El Centro Milagro are always vivacious and visually stunning. We believe in experimentation informed by tradition; thinking creatively and acting collaboratively; being irreverent but never irrelevant. We entertain; we give you pause to think, feel and imagine; and, through the cultural lens of latinidad, we embrace the full spectrum of humanity.
