The Alberta Rose welcomes a trio of fine folk singer-songwriters to its stage. After nurturing a second career as a professional blackjack player, Darryl Purpose returns to his roots as one of the country's most impressive narrative songwriters and fingerstyle guitarists with an album release of new material. A former fiddler with the Northwest's modern folk group Misty River, Chris Kokesh shows off her fine voice and songcrafting talent as a solo artist, who's appeared at several festivals and released a CD entitled October Valentine. Portland's own Matt Meighan is a dedicated songwriter with a background in poetry and activism. He'll open the show with an engaging set on acoustic guitar.
