A pair of solo competition winners are also featured, with double bassist Nicholas Arredondo taking the lead on Bottesini's Concerto No. 2 and violinist Byron Fulop Laing showing his talents on Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole. This awesome afternoon of music gets off to a rousing start with Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and closes with Samuel Barber's Symphony No. 1. Learn More

The performance was well worth seeing, unevenly enjoyed. The dance company is great, dancers athletic yet graceful, energetic, precise and versatile; I'd love to see them do a range of choreographies. The second piece, was focussed most on form, and the full body leotards in lights with darkened background gave a glowing sculptures in motion feel to all assemble, dancing. It didn't vary as much as I'd like, but held my interest, whereas the first piece was energeticly danced but I was ready for it to end long before it did, and I love dance. Still, its fun to be exposed to the creative thoughts of varied choreographers danced so well.
