Catch all four plays in Northwest Children's Theater's 2014-15 main stage season, a lineup ranging from classic fairy tales to the world's greatest detective. It all starts off with Sherlock Holmes, a fun, fast-paced reboot that finds the daring sleuth as a young man in boarding school, solving a case with his new roommate Watson. Then it's on to Mary Poppins, in a production of the Broadway musical version which combines elements of both the Disney classic film and the original stories by P.L. Travers. Following that, The Jungle Book kicks off 2015, telling the adventures of mischievous Mowgli in a stage adaptation that honors the roots of the book's original tales by combining elements of traditional Indian dance with the lovable film tradition known as "Bollywood." Then, the season ends with a splash as The Little Mermaid swims on through, in a bilingual world-premiere adaptation full of soaring aerial silk dance numbers from Portland's own A-WOL Dance Collective.
