The Rockport, MA-raised Cole has released seven albums including her most recent, Raven, in 2013. Her hit 1997 album This Fire was entirely self-produced, and she became one of the first women in Grammy history to be nominated for an entirely self-produced album. Liv Warfield has one of the most promising voices in alternative R&B soul today. She has paid her dues alongside legendary artists such as Prince, B.B. King, The Roots, Dave Matthews Band, and Floetry. Her alternative R&B soul-style is inspired by her musical heroines: Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Sade and Mary J. Blige. “My strongest connection musically is with Sade and Tina Turner, there is a truth and power behind there voices and a rawness that resonates in me.” Many assume that Warfield grew up performing on stage or in a church choir; but, her musical career just got started seven years ago singing. However, her faith is strong, “God has blessed me in such a short period of time to make the kind of progress that I’ve made. He has given me a talent that I need to share with people and that’s what I’m doing.” Liv speaks the truth, she has been featured in her own BET special J&R Presents Liv Warfield; had her single “I Decided” chart the Billboard at No. 71 and also showcased on the Michael Baisden Show and now currently singing alongside Prince. Also slated for this year is a follow up to her highly acclaimed CD Embrace Me.
