The Oregon Ballet Theatre bids a fond farewell to their beloved prima ballerina Alison Roper, a favorite of audiences and critics alike, who's set to retire from the company after 18 seasons, 116 different productions and several world premieres created especially for her. Along with some promised surprises, Celebrate boasts the company debuts of Helen Pickett's Petal and Nacho Duato's Cor Perdut, a pas de deux meant to showcase Roper's astonishing talent. Also on the bill is a revival of the popular The Lost Dance by Matjash Mrozewski. Don't miss this tribute to one of Portland's true cultural gems. Learn More
Quotes & Highlights
REPO is a retrospective of Polaris repertory dating back to the launch of the company in 2002 and includes iconic dance works by Mr. Guitron such as Solomente and Red Tied. Surviving the lean years of recession has presented a wonderful opportunity to take stock of the past – to rethink, retool, repossess it – and confidently move forward.
