In tribute to the life and times of iconic folksinger Woody Guthrie, singer/songwriter Anne Feeney returns to the stage after a two-year bout with cancer on the Hard Travelin' Tour. This stirring show will feature stories, songs, jokes and some tour-de-force instrumentalism from Guthrie's repertoire and Feeney's prior works, including her Occupy anthem "Have You Been to Jail for Justice?" Feeney is joined on stage with musicians Mark Ross and Adam Moss to help create a folksy vibe. Opening is Americana singer/songwriter Raina Rose, who will share her beautifully twisted, yet refreshingly optimistic perspective on the world.

Description

Singer/songwriter Anne Feeney returns to performing on June 30, 2012, launching the Hard Travelin' Tour appearing with Mark Ross and Adam Moss. The tour will take them from Santa Cruz to Portland and back, with 19 performances in 17 cities over 20 days, spanning more than 3,000 miles.

The tour is in tribute to the life and times of iconic American folksinger, Woody Guthrie, whose inspirational work includes the song, “Hard Travelin’.” Guthrie would have turned 100 years old this year had he not succumbed to Huntington’s Chorea in 1967. The show features many songs from Woody’s repertoire, and songs that Woody would have liked – performed by Anne Feeney and Mark Ross, who have been continuing Woody’s work throughout their careers. There are celebrations featuring Guthrie’s music planned across the nation in honor of his life.
