Singing, dancing, juggling, caroling, storytelling and more will fill the historic Alberta Rose Theatre's stage as Magical Strings performs its Celtic Yuletide Concert. A grand gala of Celtic-inspired holiday music, this annual tradition features three generations of the multi-talented Boulding family -- playing Celtic harps, hammered dulcimers, violins, cello, whistles, concertina and percussion -- along with special guests. There's even opportunity for audience participation, as spectators are invited to don a costume, follow a processional through the aisles and join in for some caroling. For this performance, Magical Strings will be joined by the award-winning Tara Academy Irish Dancers, vocalist Colleen Raney, Canadian fiddler Jocelyn Pettit and other special guests. Learn More

I enjoyed the show almost as much as the Mardi Gras show at the Alberta Rose Theatre before. I was suprised to see some of the same entertainers in this show. The Pink Lady and her partner are always fun to watch. The band was fabulous and songs and dances and acts were great. However, I had to turn away and not watch during one of the performances where the entertainer slowly swollowed sorted tools and props and then added injury to my senses by hanging hangers from his eyes which many like me found gross and offensive entertainment while I'm sure there were some that were shocked and amuzed. I get no pleasure watching to idea of pain and horror. I bought raffle tickets... which had an interesting suprise.
This show is recommended for those age 18 or older.
