The 19th Annual Portland Christmas Revels Celebrates the Winter Solstice
$11.00 - $28.00
$5.50 - $14.00*
A Portland holiday tradition for nearly two decades, Christmas Revels is a joyous production that welcomes the return of the light back from the darkness of winter with a hearty, vibrant celebration. This year's production, Christmas in Old Europe, transports you to an ancient European village that's just built a wondrous clock to celebrate the cycle of seasons. To celebrate this extraordinary machine, the town throws a festive royal party that incorporates traditional songs and dance from Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Macedonia and beyond. Enjoy gorgeous costumes and sets, plus fabulous music from the chorus of 65 singers. The show features a generous dash of broad humor, wonderful instrumental music from the Portland Brass Quintet and a host of special guests including Eric Stern of the Vagabond Opera as the Village Mayor, Ithica Tell as the Empress and Revels favorite fool Burl Ross as Hodiny, the clockmaker's klutzy assistant.
