When Rodgers and Hammerstein, perhaps the greatest composing team in history (The King and I, Oklahoma!), got together to adapt the enchanting tale of Cinderella, the results were magical. A new book by five-time Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane (Sister Act, Xanadu) presents a delightfully romantic and hilarious take on the tale, featuring an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and everything you love about the story -- the pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball -- plus some surprising new twists. Rediscover Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved songs, including "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible/It's Possible" and "Ten Minutes Ago," in this outrageously fun, Tony-winning musical for dreamers of all ages. A smash on Broadway, Cinderella commences its national tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Learn More

Amazing artistic production. Minimal stage set, torn paper with drawing projections, and mechanical horses were all fantastic. I saw the production in Boston and jumped at the chance to see it again in Providence. Highly recommended.
War Horse centers on the relationship between Albert, a teenager growing up on a farm in Devon, England, just before World War I, and his beloved half-thoroughbred horse, Joey. Albert’s family is poor, and his father raises cash by selling Joey to the cavalry as the war begins in 1914. Too young to enlist, Albert craves news of his horse, which was shipped to the battlefield in France. Three years later, Albert runs away to join the army, determined to find Joey and bring him home. Meanwhile, this smart and brave horse is pulled into service on both sides of the conflict before being left on his own in no-man’s-land, surrounded by trenches and barbed wire. It’s a universal story about hope in the face of adversity, and the production is an anthem for peace.
Running Time: 2 hours, 40 minutes (with one 15-minute intermission)
Parental Guidance: War Horse has very broad appeal to theatergoers of any age. The production contains themes of military action and is therefore recommended for ages 10 and older.
