If music is the language of the soul, there's no more eloquent concert than The Human Heart: Smiles, Tears, Laughter. In keeping with its commitment to challenging and innovative works, Cascadian Chorale will perform exciting new music from contemporary composers, many of them local. A newly commissioned work by Giselle Wyers reflects the pain and hope of children in war. Bern Herbolsheimer's Love Letters evokes rapture and loneliness alike while Abraham Kaplan and William Billings explore the complex emotions around death. Meanwhile, Eric Lane Barnes' Lambscapes gives a hilarious twist to an old nursery rhyme. Additional pieces turn to the works of Wordsworth, Burns and Frost to find fresh understanding of the human heart. Gary D. Cannon will direct this acclaimed mixed-voice chamber choir at Faith Lutheran Church. Learn More
