Three of the hottest R&B acts of the '90s fire it up during Throwback Sizzling Jam. At the club, on the radio and in the bedroom, the music of 112, Silk and Troop was everywhere. Songs like 112's "Only You," "Anywhere" and the ubiquitous "Peaches and Cream" defined the times. Ditto for songs like "Freak Me" and "Happy Days" from Silk's double platinum album Lose Control. And then there's Troop (Total Respect Of Other People) who posted five No. 1 chart-toppers, including "All I Do Is Think of You" and "Sweet November." Relive the best of the '90s while supporting a great cause: Proceeds from the concert benefit the GEMs initiative, which enables low-income students of color to receive scholarships and attend private high schools. About the Ticket Supplier: Los Angeles Ballet
The debut of Los Angeles Ballet on December 2, 2006, was met with standing ovations and critical acclaim. “A Company is Born”, declared LA Times dance critic Lewis Segal in his December 4, 2006 review. “… there’s plenty of promise in the homegrown production by company artistic directors Thordal Christensen and Colleen Neary.”
Los Angeles Ballet’s original production of The Nutcracker reflects the city in which it is based. It introduced the first of many seasons of ballet made fresh, alluring, and entertaining. With choreography by Thordal Christensen and Colleen Neary and set design by LA designer and illustrator Catherine Kanner, the production is the first to honor the company’s mission to establish an artistic collaboration that invites all genres to participate. Choreographers, composers, dancers, musicians, and set, costume and lighting designers, come together in Los Angeles Ballet for a new era of performing arts innovation.
World-class dance has come home to Los Angeles.
