Bay Area jazz legend Pete Escovedo comes to Angelicas with his sextet, which includes his son Juan, smooth jazz guitarist Ray Obiedo and Bay Area artists Bob Karty, David Belove and Phil Hawkins. The master percussionist's music seamlessly flows among Latin jazz, salsa, funk and R&B styles. In addition to his many years as a bandleader, Pete also spent three years as a member of the group Santana, and is the father of pop star Sheila E. Pete Escovedo has long been a fixture of the San Francisco music scene, and is known as the patriarch of a talented musical family. I thought Totally Elvis was totally fabulous. Even though he mentioned at the beginning of the show that his voice was a bit hoarse, he still did well and he sounded like the real deal, even just talking too. His outfit was spectacular and I read that that his are made by the person who did Elvis Presley's suits. His movements during songs were awesome too! I will return to see him again.
