Take a dive into the forbidden with Georges Bizet's exotic feast for the eyes and ears, The Pearl Fishers. Set in ancient times on the island of Ceylon, the 1863 opera centers around two longtime mates whose friendship is put to the test when they both fall in love with a beautiful virgin priestess, igniting a fiery love triangle. Secrets and lives hang in the balance as jealousy wars with fraternal loyalty in this enchanting early opera from Bizet (Carmen) that includes the famous duet "Au fond du temple saint," one of the best-known songs in Western opera. This production features award-winning soprano Hailey Clark as the priestess Leila, America's Got Talent finalist Sean Panikkar as Nadir and acclaimed baritone Lee Poulis as Zurga, and is presented in French with English and Spanish supertitles.
