Celebrate Emily Dickinson's 183rd birthday with Peter Gizzi (Threshold Songs), a poet who has been called Dickinson's modern-day heir. Gizzi will be discussing the great American poet's legacy, in addition to reading from his own work. Hovering between grief and joy, the abstract and the concrete, Gizzi's poetry explores the hardships and pleasures in life. A former poetry editor for The Nation, Gizzi has garnered numerous awards and fellowships, and has taught at Brown and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Learn More

Fun event....we enjoyed the round table seating and pretty comfortable chairs. It was nice that there was a 'bar' inside the room we were in also, especially since no servers came to our table to check if we wanted to order anything. Comedians were quite good/funny. The art center itself is very nice....I would be interested in returning sometime. Thank you.

About the Ticket Supplier: Cool Cow Comedy
Rahmein is one of the area's only Iranian-American comics and that unique ethnic perspective makes his comedy both original and hilarious. A father of three young boys, he and his wife make their home in Fredericksburg, VA ... like most Iranians. He attacks the stage like a lion; roaming the space as he creates laughs out of political, familial and observational scenarios. Rahmein's high energy and ability to think on his feet have gained him vast respect through out the stand up comedy world from audiences and peers alike all over the universe ... well, at least this hemisphere, alright ... county. He's also a headlining comic for the political comedy troupe, Pardon the Pundit.
