Set during the rural economic slowdown of the 1970s, playwright Sam Shepard's universally acclaimed Buried Child resonates as strongly today as it did when it launched Shepard's career in 1978. A Pulitzer winner for drama, Buried Child makes for a fierce, forceful and unforgettable portrayal of the realities of the American Dream. The realistic masterpiece mixes comedy and drama, keen commentary and deep emotion in a squalid farm home occupied by a clan filled with suppressed violence, apparent unhappiness and dark secrets. Kenneth Kelleher directs this San Jose Stage Company production. Learn More

The production was fabulous! The singers, the dancers, everything was wonderful! The young actors (aka children) had sensational voices! Yeah! The theatre is a wonderful size...I don't think there's a bad seat in the house!Written on Dec 29 2009

It was wonderful!! The cast was very professional, enthusiastic, and excelled musically and theatrically. I loved the small theater experience that put me right there on the stage with the event, as well. Going on Christmas Day made it even more meaningful. This was just the second time that I'd been to an event at the Norris theater, but will certainly be looking for more to attend there.Written on Dec 28 2009
