Sure, Dorothy may say there's "No place like home" but there's really no place like Oz. Narnia, Neverland and Middle-earth are all magical but somehow not quite as real or as vibrant as the Land of Oz. Now you can visit yourself thanks to an exciting musical production of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz presented by Cosumnes Oaks High School Theater. Whisked by a tornado from a Kansas farm, little Dorothy finds herself in a fairyland where scarecrows talk and monkeys fly. To get home she must see the mysterious "Wizard," enlisting the help of characters she meets along a yellow brick road. Savor some of the best songs ever written for screen or stage like "Over the Rainbow," "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" and "Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead." Learn More

It was my 6 year old daughter's first circus and she had a blast. She wasn't going in with much expectation except for seeing a ringmaster and that was fulfilled. In case it's not clear, there are no animals but most of the other components are there (flying trapeze, tightrope, caged motorcyclists and even a "cannon").
For my husband and I, we actually saw a much more exciting Le Cirque type of show in Reno a few weeks ago and that one was only $10 (we felt like we were ripping them off because it was such a great show for the price). This fails in comparison but for the average 6 year old, I think it was more than great....for the Goldstar amount. I'm not sure if I would have been happy paying $35/ticket for the three of us to go. There are also many opportunities to spend more cash so be prepared. $12 for a glow in the dark light thing (that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed), $3 water, $5 Popcorn oh and $7 for a slushie BUT it comes in a VERY fun cup that has flashing lights and will be a staple in our household.
Overall, it was good family time!
