Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra pays tribute to two masters of the English Romantic tradition: Sir William Walton and Ralph Vaughan Williams. The highlight of the evening will be Walton's "Belshazzar's Feast", an epic work of passion, sensitivity and unparalleled drama that vividly recounts the fall of Babylon and Jewish repatriation. For this piece, the ensemble will be joined by Metropolitan Opera star Clayton Brainerd. There will be a pre-concert talk given by conductor Donald Kendrick, which is designed to heighten the audience's enjoyment and understanding of the music on the program. And, there is also a post-concert reception in the lobby where you'll have a chance to meet the artists.
