It was once said of the infamous his-and-her gangster team of Bonnie and Clyde, "They're young. They're in love. They kill people." And now, thanks to this rousing and breathlessly exciting new musical, you can add a fourth description: They sing. Composed by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde) with lyrics by Academy Award winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard), Bonnie & Clyde weaves rockabilly, blues and gospel music into the story of how two small-time nobodies in West Texas became America's most notorious folk heroes. Runaway Stage Productions presents the regional premiere of this Tony-nominated tale of love, adventure and crime. Learn More

I would have been disappointed if I had paid the $22 ticket price for this show. I wasn't crazy about the script. Way to many 80's references that were over the top. The main character Robbie Heart was stiff and uninteresting. His voice was just okay, not great. The women of the show had wonderful voices which was why I didn't just leave after the first act. I felt like the cast was just reciting lines. There was no chemistry between any of the characters. Robbie's costuming was also distracting. Not a memorable performance.
About the Ticket Supplier: Runaway Stage Productions
Runaway Stage Productions (RSP) began serving the region’s theatre community in 1997 at the Eagle Theater in Old Sacramento and now performs at the 24th Street Theater at the Sierra 2 Center. It is the only Community Theatre Company in the greater Sacramento Area that is priveleged to have an 18 piece Resident Orchestra dedicated to providing “live” music during performances.
The company stages six Broadway style productions each season, and six original Storybook Children’s Theater shows, which are tailored towards younger audiences yet enjoyable for the whole family.
Past Elly Awards for best overall productions include All Shook Up (2008), Cinderella (Children’s Play – 2008) Chicago (2007), The Wiz (2003), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2000).
Runaway Stage Productions also offers education and enrichment of all audiences through its Youth Musical Theatre Workshops which introduce school age children to the theatrical experience. RSP provides a new learning opportunity through the “Broadway Kids” series, which introduces children between the ages of five to nine to the stage in a fun and nurturing environment.
