Although they don't know anything about construction, Amanda and Marv Dillon have been working for months building their new home with the help of Jo, a local contractor with an endless supply of crusty old sayings. But when they get a visit from the brother and sister building inspectors, things get complicated very fast. They soon find everything they've worked for in danger. Enthusiastic cast in a wonderful production of this classic.
The 24th St. Theatre is an intimate space and there is not a bad seat in the house. The dancing was terrific. The women were definately the strong ones when it came to voices and they carried their parts like professionals.
It definately got me in the holiday spirit.
About the Ticket Supplier: Runaway Stage Productions
Runaway Stage Productions (RSP) began serving the region’s theatre community in 1997 at the Eagle Theater in Old Sacramento and now performs at the 24th Street Theater at the Sierra 2 Center. It is the only Community Theatre Company in the greater Sacramento Area that is priveleged to have an 18 piece Resident Orchestra dedicated to providing “live” music during performances.
The company stages six Broadway style productions each season, and six original Storybook Children’s Theater shows, which are tailored towards younger audiences yet enjoyable for the whole family.
Past Elly Awards for best overall productions include All Shook Up (2008), Cinderella (Children’s Play – 2008) Chicago (2007), The Wiz (2003), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2000).
Runaway Stage Productions also offers education and enrichment of all audiences through its Youth Musical Theatre Workshops which introduce school age children to the theatrical experience. RSP provides a new learning opportunity through the “Broadway Kids” series, which introduces children between the ages of five to nine to the stage in a fun and nurturing environment.
