We went from a downtown appointment to the play, with time in between for lunch. In driving around St. Paul we couldn't seem to locate anything, so we went to the showboat and got tickets. We headed to Josephs which is excellent close by. However, at the other end of that strip is a place called the Wabasha Deli. It was great. Prices very reasonable and the friendliest and most helpful staff there. We will certainly go back. We also saw they had a wonderful private dining area if anyone goes with a group of people.

You can buy drinks and popcorn at the theater. There is a free parking lot right by the boat. It is a little tricky to find.

There is some construction going on around Harriett Island, and it's easy to get completely turned around. Arrive early to figure out where the place is.

I always like going to the Showboat. This was a fun show with some fun and interesting reminders of childhood vacations. Sometimes it seemed like kind of a lot of yelling... continued

If you are a Midwesterner and you ever took family vacations you will relate to this play. The humor is somewhat expected, yet is homey, kind and somewhat corny but... continued
