One of the most beloved children's books of all time makes its way to the stage in the musical The Secret Garden. On a windswept moor in a lonely old house, a grieving widower and his sickly son spend their days lonely and lost, haunted by the ghosts of departed loved ones. Enter Mary, a sour young orphan who has lost her family to cholera and come to live with her uncle. She discovers a locked garden that's been left to grow wild and uncared for -- much like Mary herself. Her quest to find the key and restore the garden uncovers startling secrets and a family tragedy. With the help of her new friend Dickon and her cousin Colin, Mary brings new life to the garden and to her grief-stricken uncle. Presented by the award-winning California Youth Conservatory Theatre and directed by Shaun T. Evans, this magical musical is the perfect vehicle for CYC's cast of talented young actors and seasoned professionals. Enhanced by a beautiful and powerful score performed by a live orchestra, the musical version of this beloved story is a delight for audiences of all ages. Learn More

Our half price mezzanine seats were great. My friend whose daughters were in the cast warned me that it was very PG-13, and she was right. It is good for kids ages 12-14, but it was a little much for my younger daughter and her friends (10-11 years old). Their moms were a bit mortified by the subject matter and one even walked out at intermission.
Great cast with fun songs and a story that middle school kids can relate to, but I know it made some adults very uncomfortable. Fun, but a bit awkward!
An explosively funny original Broadway musical, 13 tells the story of Evan, a Jewish kid from New York whose parents' divorce moves him to Indiana. As the new kid, Evan's got to make friends, then determine if they are the "right" friends to have. All the while, he works to get the cool kids to his Bar Mitzvah. This "grown-up musical about growing up" is presented by CYC Theatre, the company that brought you "RENT" last summer.
