This year San Diego Symphony is throwing a down-home, all-American Christmas party at their Holiday Pops concert. This celebration to remember features San Diego native and Grammy Award-winning guitar and banjo player Alison Brown, who's often compared to Bela Fleck for her unique blend of jazz, bluegrass, rock and blues. She'll perform festive holiday hits with a bluegrass twist. The San Diego Master Chorale and San Diego Children's Chorale will add their touch to the concert, performing traditional yuletide favorites. It's a sparkling evening of music guaranteed to lift everyone's spirits. Learn More

This event was an expensive joke. The reserved seating was non-existent, which would have made me more angry had I purchased a $50 ticket at the door. Not only was I fraudulently afforded "reserved seating", My guest and I spent the evening standing in enormous lines with a plastic cup awaiting our wine tastings because they were "out of glasses"! Really, I paid $30 per person for a plastic cup!!!. Even the wine vendors felt sorry for those of us without glasses, noting that the temp change in wine due to our plastic can effect the tasting. The cheese tastings were an even bigger embarrassment. After a 30 min wait guests were given a single piece of cheese that was no larger than a tic tac. After 3 hours of starvation and a huge crowd, the vendors suddenly packed up and left leaving hundreds of patrons wondering "Where the heck is the rest of my tastings!?" This event was such a disappointment in every way.
