As always, there were many common dolphins that greeted us and hung around by our boat. They were fun to watch. We encountered a pod of 7 Grey Whales! It's "that" time of year for whales, so there was much flirting and action in the water. We got such wonderful photos and many blow & fluke shots. The whales were traveling slow and didn't seem to mind us at all. We spent about an hour watching them. It was amazing!!Written on Dec 30 2011
When we got to the Coronado Islands, the fog had rolled in. We still got to see several Booby chicks and the other great birds, elephant seals & seals. The Island rock formations are incredible and with the fog, it looked like we were a part of a very spooky movie.
A great day and we will do it again soon! We've done this cruise several times and never get tired of it. Any day on the water is a great day!
This 6 hour cruise may be too long for young kids. Also, if you aren't sure if you get motion sickness, take the shorter cruise. There was one very sick miserable child and she just had to stick it out.

The crew abord the "Bright and Morning Star" were a great group of people, they were very informative and made this a definate do again event for me and my family. One hour before boarding we took dramamine; which was a lifesaver! Many people on our trip became seasick. We had the opportunity to sea Blue & Grey Whales, a large group of dolphins, an odd looking Sun Fish, Sealions, and many different types of birds. The Islands are beautiful and to see them taken over by wild life of all sorts is amazing. If you like taking fast photography of ocean landscapes; you'll enjoy this event. We went on a bit of a hazy day so were not able to see land views from afar very well; I'm sure on a clear day though the sights of Mexico and our coastal cities are amazing. Again this would be a fun and memorable cruise for everyone who loves the ocean life.Written on May 10 2011

It was a very long 6 hours for a trip that did not include the islands. Now I can see why going there would have made such a difference. We did enjoy the whales and dolphins when we saw them, but there were plenty of times when it was just plain boring. If you cannot afford the extra $30 to pay for the Mexican Visa to go to the islands, I wouldn't really recommend the 6 hr trip. Take the 3 hr trip instead.Written on Jan 07 2012

> We had purchased two tickets thru Goldstar for the 6 hour trip to Coronado
Islands. We were told that, unless 18 people signed up, the trip would be
cancelled. Renee(worker at H&M) said that 13 people had signed up and it would
be up to the Captain of the boat(Dainai Pacific KenBarich) to go or not to go..
Renee was very disagreeable and treated those of us that purchased tickets thru
Goldstar as second class customers. We apparently would forfeit our purchase
price if we didn"tt show up however H&M ,if they deemed it not as profitable as
they would like, could cancel with no notificattion to us. Our time and money
was not important to H&M as represented to us by Renee. It seemed that most of
the people there were customers of Goldstar. What Renee tried to do was to
convert the customers that had signed up for a 6hour Coronado cruise to a three
hour whale watching tour. It seemed like a BAIT and SWITCH technique and it
smelled fishy.
> Customer service certainly is not important for H&M Landing. I would
certainly re-evaluate your business relationship with them. We are known by the
company we keep.

> a very unhappy customer
