Members Who Went Said:The actors who played Blanche DuBois and Stanley Kowalski were outstanding - loved Blanche's performance more. The venue was a little surprisiing but the actors, set and performances overcame all obstacles. I highly recommend this presentation...just wonderful.
Shop Girl The venue was open seating and this should have been disclosed when purchasing the tickets — Arrive early for good seats. Additionally, the venue was in an industrial warehouse type of building which as hot and uncomfortable as the fans they had blew directly on the people sitting nearby, thus it windy for some people. Perhaps they could have turned down the fan speed, but the room would have gotten hot.
Stephanie Very intense performance. Beautiful tribute to Williams. |

More Details About This Event: ion theatre company proudly presents A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. In a post World-War II South, fading belle Blanche DuBois (Monique Gaffney) descends into a sweltering New Orleans summer where her younger sister Stella (Sara Beth Morgan) lives with her volatile, working-class husband Stanley (Matt Scott). Passions ignite, wills collide and shocking truths emerge amidst the magical, jazz-drunk byways of the French Quarter in this searing, reimagined American classic.
When Streetcar hit theatres in 1946, the play cemented Tennessee Williams' reputation as one of America’s greatest playwrights, winning him a New York Critics’ Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Directed by Executive Artistic Director, Claudio Raygoza, the play features Brian Mackey, Morgan Trant, Rich Carrillo, Colin Simon, Bebe Black & Kevin Koppman-Gue. Jeffrey Jones is assistant director. |
