An odd but exhilarating evening. The Embarcadero setting is stunning, of course, and the fireworks at the end very ooh- and aah-inducing. Great music from the Symphony, especially the brilliantly-orchestrated Beatles medley. The circus performers were very variable in their skill levels, some invoking unfavorable comparison with 'America's Got Talent' performances. But the guy with the lassos was very entertaining, and so was the girl acrobat on the suspended ribbons. But why, why did that poor violinist have to perform suspended in mid-air?

With Comicon, of course, the crowds and parking were very difficult. I think the Symphony needs to not perform that weekend; at least, at that venue.
