FilmOut San Diego presents a screening of the 1980 film Cruising, starring Al Pacino, Paul Sorvino and Karen Allen. Pacino plays a police detective who goes undercover in the sleazy underground gay subculture of New York City to catch a serial killer who is brutally murdering numerous gay men in the city's lurid S&M districts. Directed by William Friedkin, Pacino's performance as a man whose identity and relationships are hauntingly affected by his all-consuming assignment remains the film's magnetic centerpiece.
