Spoken word, hip hop and a little live ragtime music propel this world-premiere one-man show on the life and times of composer Scott Joplin, starring writer-performer Robert Barry Fleming. Awarded a posthumous Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for "his contributions to American music," Joplin and his signature piano pieces like "The Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer" became huge hits at the turn of the 20th century, and then were revived again in the 1970s through an album collection and the soundtrack to the hit movie The Sting. Fleming explores Joplin's music, as well as his contemporary and historical influences, in this new solo musical event. Learn More
