This first feature-length film by Rashaad Ernesto Green is part tough street film and part sensitive gay character study. After three years in prison, macho Enrique (Esai Morales) returns to the Bronx to find the world he once knew has turned upside down. His wife, Angela (Judy Reyes), struggles to hide an emotional affair, and his teenage son, Michael (newcomer Harmony Santana), is undergoing a sexual transformation well beyond Enrique's grasp and understanding. Unable to accept his child, Enrique clings to his masculine ideals while Angela attempts to hold the family together by protecting Michael. Still under the watchful eye of his parole officer (Isaiah Whitlock Jr.), Enrique must become the father he needs to be or risk losing his family and freedom yet again.

The move was very well made. I believe it did depict the life style of a transgender youth. At times I wanted to get up and leave because it was so real. The actors were very good and real. Story line was real.
